Weedsta.com Scholarship Program

The Weedsta Scholarship program is now accepting applications from all college students interested in the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes. The scholarship program is designed to teach, encourage and enlighten the student community about medical marijuana’s benefits, and emphasize its role in healthcare that makes it more than just an illicit drug.

The $1,000 Weedsta Scholarship will be awarded on August 3, 2015.

Eligibility
This scholarship program of Weedsta.com is open to any college or university student who:
  1. Has a good standing at an accredited private or public university;
  2. Has a current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher;
  3. Is at least 18 years of age;
  4. Is a legal resident of the United States of America;
  5. Has completed and submitted the official application form and essay before the deadline.

Entry Guidelines:
  1. Write a 500+ word essay explaining why marijuana should be legalized in the U.S. for medical purposes. We are looking for the winning essay to be persuasive, compelling and succinct. All entry essays will be read, and the essay that best meets the Weedsta scholarship criteria will receive a $1,000 scholarship grant.
  2. Please email your essay to support@weedsta.com. The subject line should read "Weedsta Scholarship Essay". Students should be sure to include their first and last name, as well as a contact phone number and email address.
  3. A copy of your unofficial student transcript in PDF format must be attached to your email to verify enrollment.
Scholarship Details
  • $1,000 cash scholarship will be awarded to the winner.
  • Weedsta’s scholarship committee will begin accepting application forms and essays on June 8, 2015.
  • All applications will be reviewed by a Weedsta.com selection committee. After all criteria is met, the final decision will be based on originality and quality of writing.
  • Essays should be based on accurate, verifiable research.
  • Essays will be checked for re-writes, plagiarism, and duplicates. Those who fail to comply will automatically be disqualified.
  • Submission deadline will be on July 18, 2015
  • The winner will be notified via email on August 3, 2015.
Notification

On August 3, 2015 Weedsta will notify the applicant with the highest rated essay via email, and an acceptance form will be sent. The form will contain a certification of eligibility to be signed by the winner. If the signed eligibility letter is not returned within 14 days, the scholarship offer will be revoked and the runner-up entry will be selected. Weedsta reserves the right to award the cash prize to the applicant who is the author of the next best essay.

Privacy

By participation in the Weedsta Scholarship program you are agreeing to allow the program administrator and sponsor to use your personal information solely for the purpose of the Weedsta Scholarship program.

Cancellation

At its sole discretion, Weedsta reserves the right to cancel this scholarship program at any time, without notice and without penalty.

General

All entries submitted to Weedsta.com are subject to verification prior to awarding any scholarship money.

Disqualification

Weedsta reserves the right to disqualify any contestants who violate any terms and conditions of the scholarship program.

Taxes

All applicants are responsible for any federal taxes and other fees related to the Weedsta scholarship program.
